About.
There is no name and no photograph on this site, and there never will be. A site about the fear of being looked at should not open with somebody asking to be looked at. It would also be a strange thing to ask of you, that you take advice on this from a stranger's confident face.
So: one person makes this. That person goes red. Everything here is either something that has been studied and published, in which case it is linked, or something honest about what it is like, in which case it is said plainly and not dressed up as evidence.
Why it exists.
This is the one thing on the whole site that only the owner can write: one true sentence about why he made it. It lives in the OWNER_SENTENCE variable on Railway. Set it and this note is replaced by the sentence, here and on the home page. Nothing else is waiting on anybody.
How it is made.
- One short video a day and one longer one a week, on YouTube and Instagram. Sam, the drawn figure, is in all of them. He is the only one in this world with coloured cheeks, which is the entire idea in one picture.
- Five articles on this site, written for the sentences people actually type at one in the morning. Every claim in them is linked to its source.
- One free email a week, and one paid guide of forty nine pages that is honest about what it cannot do.
What this is
- A daily film and a written archive. One short film a day about the fear of blushing, and a set of articles that go further than a film can.
- Written from the inside. By one person who has it, for people who have it. No face, no before and after, no stranger looking confident at a camera.
- Sourced. Every claim that comes from research names the study and links to it, so you can check it at one in the morning without taking my word for anything.
- Under its proper name. Erythrophobia is the clinical term. It is used here where it is accurate, and plain language everywhere else.
What this is not
- Not therapy, and not a substitute for it. If what you are carrying is bigger than a website, that is worth saying out loud to a doctor.
- Not medical advice. Nothing here tells you what to take, what to stop taking, or what to have done. Those belong in a room with a clinician who knows your history.
- Not a promise that it stops. Nothing on this site is sold as a cure, because the published evidence does not support one.
- Not somewhere that wants your details. No account, no profile, no tracking, and an email list you can leave in one click.
If this is taking pieces out of your life, a doctor or a psychologist is the right next step, and asking for one is a normal thing to do. This site is not a substitute for that.
